Automic Healthcheck

Our package for a healthy system environment! The Health Check for Automic AWA is a service package designed to help Automic customers use their workload automation systems as stably, efficiently, and resource-conserving as possible. The aim is to avoid automation failures and bottlenecks as far as possible, thereby minimizing operating costs and optimizing the benefits of an AWA environment. This service is performed by Automic experts and includes a complete analysis of the AWA systems, starting with the existing installation (hardware, OS, database(s), competing applications, reliability, etc.), through the current configuration of AWA servers, agents, and utilities, the implementation of control depending on the type and quantity of processes to be controlled, and graphical evaluations of historical data to identify legacy issues, peak loads, and correlations between faulty activities. Based on this analysis data, a document is created for the customer with recommendations for optimizing the stability and performance of AWA in their specific environment. The extent to which these recommendations are implemented is ultimately up to the customer. Minor adjustments (e.g., adjustments to configuration parameters) are often implemented by the customer in collaboration with Automic experts immediately during the health check.

Benefits of an Automic Health Check

The Health Check ensures that the systems are optimally configured. This is useful when setting up a new environment. The Health Check checks whether the environment is equipped to handle the tasks ahead in the long term.

The way existing AWA environments are used often changes over time and may require configuration adjustments to optimize system performance and adapt it to changing requirements.

The Health Check supports this by analyzing the current runtime environment in order to identify any bottlenecks at an early stage and remedy them with appropriate recommendations. It also highlights implementations that significantly increase the license costs of the new license model.

Our service package

Detailed analysis of the AWA system architecture, configuration of the AWA system, configuration of the database, performance analysis of the database from the perspective of the AWA system, and content analysis of the AWA database (statistics, reports)

Optimization through implementation of minor immediate measures.

Preparation of a comprehensive report on the analysis of the AWA environment, including suggestions for optimizing the environment.

Duration and effort required for an Automic Health Check

An AWA Health Check is performed completely remotely, but can also be carried out partially on site or as part of other projects (e.g., upgrades) upon request. For the analysis (collection of relevant information and data), one of our Automic experts requires access to the AWA systems to be analyzed or the corresponding support from system, network, and DB administrators, if necessary.

Based on experience, the analysis takes two days per AWA system. The analysis is carried out on the running system, so production is not affected. Our Automic experts need another two days to prepare the report, including optimization suggestions. This also includes the graphical presentation of the analysis.

If initial optimizations to the AWA system are possible and necessary during the analysis, we will carry these out immediately, up to a maximum of one day.

A comprehensive health check of an AWA system can therefore be carried out within four to five days.

The implementation of the recommendations resulting from the system analysis is not part of the actual health check, but can be carried out additionally by our consultants.
