With best4Automic (b4A) and Tricise 3C, best-blu and Tricise offer two powerful solutions for the structured distribution and secure operation of Automic objects. Both address the same core process—the transport and provisioning of automation logic in Automic environments—but pursue different, complementary approaches.
Tricise 3C – Control, transparency, and security in property transport
Tricise 3C expands the proven Automic transport mechanism with structured release and transport management. Snapshots are used to precisely define which Automic objects are included in a transport. Supporting scans identify dependencies and inconsistencies and ensure that transports are complete and correct.
Role-based access and version controls enable conflict-free collaboration within the Automic team. Audit logs and object differences ensure maximum traceability—a decisive advantage for stable releases, audits, and regulated environments. The integrated self-service component (request management) enables users and departments to independently start and manage workflow requests and processes and track their status – without requiring in-depth technical knowledge of Automic or programming.
3C thus focuses clearly on the technical lifecycle and quality assurance of Automic objects.
best4Automic (b4A) – DevOps principles for sustainable automation
best4Automic takes a more comprehensive approach, applying proven DevOps methodologies from software development to automation with Automic. Instead of transporting individual objects, automation solutions are encapsulated in versioned, reusable b4A packages—including configuration, planning, and implementation.
These packages can be automatically distributed to all Automic environments, tested, and reliably rolled back if necessary. Git integration, compliance checks, and automatic testing increase quality and governance. At the same time, specialist departments can use the b4A Service Portal to start and monitor any automation implemented in Automic. This enables closer collaboration between IT and specialist departments.
b4A thus addresses the technical, organizational, and procedural maturity of modern automation landscapes.
Clear distinction – without either/or
3C and b4A are not in competition with each other.
While 3C ensures transparency, stability, and control in classic transport and release management, b4A enables the establishment of a holistic, DevOps-oriented development and deployment process for Automic.
The customer decides which approach makes sense for which use case—from controlled object transport to the strategic advancement of automation.
