The Health Check for Automic AWA is a service package designed to help Automic customers use their workload automation systems in the most stable, high-performance and resource-efficient way possible. The aim is to avoid failures and bottlenecks in automation as far as possible, thereby minimizing operating costs and optimizing the benefits of an AWA environment.
This service is carried out by Automic experts and includes a complete analysis of the AWA systems, starting with the existing installation (hardware, OS, database(s), competing applications, reliability, etc.), the current configuration of AWA servers, agents and utilities, the implementation of the control system depending on the type and quantity of processes to be controlled, through to graphical evaluations of historical data to identify legacy loads, load peaks, correlations of faulty activities, etc.
This analysis data is used to create a document for the customer with recommendations for optimizing the stability and performance of the AWA in their specific environment. The extent to which these recommendations are adopted is ultimately up to the customer. Minor adjustments (e.g. adjustments to configuration parameters) are often implemented by the customer in collaboration with the Automic experts immediately during the health check.
The health check ensures that the systems are optimally configured. This is useful when an environment is being set up from scratch. The health check checks whether the environment is sustainably equipped for the tasks ahead.
The way in which existing AWA environments are used often changes over time and may require adjustments to the configuration in order to optimize the performance of the system and adapt it to the changed requirements.
The Health Check provides support here by analyzing the current runtime environment in order to identify any existing bottlenecks at an early stage and make appropriate recommendations to eliminate them. It also points out implementations that significantly increase the license costs of the new license model.
